Found another nice Death's Daughter review :)

Gives me that warm and fuzzy Wayne's World feeling...like when you climb the rope in gym class.

  3. With every review I read, the more anxious I am getting towards reading the book myself... Is it February 24th yet???
By the way, I saw on Amazon that "Strictly Sexual" on DVD will be released the 24th as well... Hopefully the mail will hurry across that big pond towards the Netherlands.

  4. I am so not surprised that you're getting positive reviews. I've read the comics you've written (the W/T ones and the one in "Tales of the Slayers")...then I read "Accursed" and found myself wondering "is there anything she CAN'T do? And do WELL?" I am waiting (not so) patiently to get my copy of "Death's Daughter" and will not be surprised when I can't put it down until I'm done reading it.

  5. Congrats, sounds like an interesting read very unique.

Have you thought about getting you're publishers to approach girl/women magazines as it has the fashion aspect, it's cool to be unique over here in the UK right now, if there is enough of a fashion career storyline to get them to bite it'll work. Plus ALOT of fashionistas are secret 'geeks' and LOVE Buffy and coupled with the fact you ARE Tara you could be onto something....

Also check out my blog please oh fabulous one...

  6. I did that once...climb the rope I mean, in gym, all the way up to the top. It was all very Vision Quest...

  7. To me climbing the ropes in gym class is about as useful later in life as the Pythagorean Theorem. Not much call for it.
My question is: did you think you'd be called a celebrity novelist? You can write and have such a fertile and twisted imagination few others could aspire to.

  9. Hey, you're a celebrity novelist! Nice review.

(Climbing the gym class rope didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling at all.)

  11. I just read that review before coming here. D'Ammassa doesn't waste words and knows a good book when he reads one. He's never led me astray.

  12. Amber, thanks for the advance copy of your book! Here's my review:

It was so much fun to go to Hell with Calliope Reaper-Jones! I was also happily carried away to Newport Rhode Island, Bollywood, and midtown Manhattan (the latter easy for me) by Callie’s vivid voice and personality. I laughed out loud many times, enjoying both the story you tell and the way you tell it. My favorite genre authors manage to blend genre requirements with their own odd insights and style, and you’ve done this, too. I know you had a good time writing the book because you told me so, but I would have known anyway, just by reading it. I recommend Death’s Daughter to anyone who likes to read and have fun at the same time.

  13. Hey, I have a couple of things to say.
    1) It's a crime that Tara hasn't been written into Buffy season 8! I've stopped reading because she hasn't ONCE been in it! She was my favorite character.

    2) You look very cute with bangs.

    That's all. : )

  14. Congratulations! Hang onto those positive reviews -- print them out and keep them in a folder. Then, when you get crappy reviews, take out the good ones and focus on those. It'll totally save your sanity!

Congrats on the new release! (We share a release date! *g*)

  15. Hi Amber,

Just saw that interview you did at comic-con. I'd be a little surprised if no one had asked this, but I was wondering if you were at all inspired by Neil Gaiman's Sandman series...in writing Death's Daughter, of course.

Saying yes will immediately spur me to pick up the book, btw :D

I should follow you on Twitter.
